Welcome to the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials — Track & Field: On Campus Housing

There are a limited number of residence hall rooms on the University of Oregon campus for spectators attending the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials — Track & Field.

Accommodations include three meals per day, beginning with dinner on the day of check in and breakfast and lunch on the day of departure. *Please acknowledge that standard hotel amenities like in room air conditioning, room service, 24-hour check-in, in room TV, coffee makers and daily housecleaning service are not available.

Room rate per night for a double occupancy residence hall room is $190. Room rate for a single occupancy residence hall room is $113. We have two booking packages

  • 10 night Single with Bath (occupancy for one person) - $1,130.00
  • 10 night Double with Bath (occupancy for two people) - $1,900.00

There will be no proration for discounting number of nights for either package, it is the full ten nights whether used or not.

The meet will be held June 21–30, 2024 at the historical Hayward Field at the University of Oregon. This will be the eighth time that the U.S. Olympic trials will be staged in TrackTown USA, with over 1,000 athletes competing for their chance to represent the United States at the Olympic Games in Paris. Event Information

Spectators will stay in our New Residence Hall

Located on the corner of East 15th Avenue and Agate Street, The New Residence Hall lies in the heart of the UO campus. It has lounges and open patio seating around the building, which is a favorite hangout spot for guests as well as offers a beautiful view of campus. Adjacent to Hayward Field, the hall has easy access to food, open campus spaces, the City of Eugene mass transit, bike and walking trails. Spectators who sign up to stay on campus will be dining in Unthank Hall as part of their housing package.

Rooms are modest in size as they are student housing dormitory style rooms and not a hotel; each room has two twin-sized beds, desks with chairs, and closets. Sheets, blankets, and pillows are provided, and beds are made upon arrival. Towels and washcloths are provided as well, though please remember to bring your own toiletries.

Rooms do not have air conditioning, T.V. or other ameities common in traditional hotel rooms. We do not provide daily housekeeping service through stay. Sleeping bags and electric transport items such as hoverboards, eBikes, scooters etc. are not allowed in the building per fire regulations. Alcohol, open flames, smoking and pets are not permitted in the residence halls. The University of Oregon is a smoke– and tobacco–free campus.

You can pay for overnight parking closer to the start of the event. More information will be released/posted about the costs and locations for overnight and daytime parking.

Frequently Asked Questions

How are the rooms set up? How many people can stay in each room?

Each double occupancy room has at least two twin-sized beds at a standard height, desks with chairs, and wardrobes - the maximum occupancy for this room is two people. Each room has an in-room bathroom (toilet, sink and shower). The New Residence Hall is a six-story building with residential floors accessible via elevators as well as stairwells. If you have an accessibility need, please let us know in your registration. The bed heights are pre-set from our academic year and are typically hip height for a standard adult (approx. 2.5 - 3 feet off the ground) Alcohol, smoking, open flames or pets are not permitted. The University of Oregon is a smoke– and tobacco–free campus.

Are the rooms air-conditioned?

The rooms are not air-conditioned. Portable air conditioning units are not allowed within the residence halls. We will provide a box fan in room upon arrival. And though the rooms do not have A/C, our lounges and ground floor common space will have cooler air pumped in.

Are the bathrooms connected to the room, or down the hall?

Each room will have a private in-room bathroom. Full linens and towels will be in room upon check in, but please remember to bring your own toiletries.

Are bed and bath linens provided?

Sheets, blankets, and pillows are provided as well as towels and washcloths. No sleeping bags will be allowed. Beds are made upon arrival.

How much does it cost?

Room rate per night for a double occupancy residence hall room is $190 ( $1,900.00 for 10 nights). Room rate for a single occupancy residence hall room is $113 ( $1,130.00 for 10 nights). The 10 night package options for a single or a double are the only offerings currently. We will not be prorating the number of nights or that cost for unused nights. Please note, the room reservation and booking is non-transferable.

What time is check out?

Check out is expected by noon on the day of your departure.

How do meals work? Can I have guest join me for a meal?

Rooms include a meal plan—three meals for each day of your stay. Each residential guest will be given a meal card that allows access to the dining facilities at the Pacific Northwest Market located on the ground floor of Unthank Hall. There is no refund for missed meals and the card is non-transferable. Non residential guests may purchase additional individual meals/snacks with cash or debit/credit cards in other venues located in the Erb Memorial Union.

Is there internet access in the residence halls?

Guest will have access to free Wi-Fi in the residence halls and on campus. Information on how to connect to the Wi-Fi will be provided at check in.

Are there laundry machines?

The New Residence Hall has card-operated laundry facilities as well as an app (that works with both android and ios systems). It is $1.50 for the washer and the dryers are free.

What if I have changes or a cancellation?

All changes and housing cancellations must be made by May 24, 2024. All cancellations must be submitted in writing; send an email to conferences@uoregon.edu. Cancellations will be subject to a $35 service fee. Reservations are non-transferable, and you will be asked to show a picture ID upon arrival for check in. Check-in Information

Check in will be handled at the Global Scholars Hall (GSH) Service Center, located in the Global Scholars Hall lobby. There will be directional signs and arrows for the GSH Service Center.

For those that selected the optional Early Arrival - Check in will be available starting at 4:00 p.m - 11:00 p.m. on June 20th. For other guests arriving June 21st through June 24th - Check in will be available starting at 11:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m .

The GSH Service Center hours are 7:00 a.m - 9:00 p.m. daily

Guests will be required to show photo ID upon check in and the booking holder must be present for keys and meal cards to be issued. For those driving, there will be a temporary drop-off area for unloading and check in. You will receive further parking information before your arrival and there will be assistance at the service center.

If you require after-hours check in (after 11pm), you will need to call our 24 hotline at 1-541-346-9114 to have a staff member greet you. We ask that you call this hotline at least 10-15 mintutes prior to your arrival to campus. Please be sure to give your full name and a contact phone number in case our team needs to reach you.
