We did it! A team of 400 staff, students, faculty, and some community members made it possible to welcome more than 8,000 students to campus August 14-20th. Combined, they worked about 2,800 hours with us, in addition to their typical workload. We had individuals, work teams, student organizations, and athletes working together to ensure a smooth transition for new and returning students into our campus community .

Check-in’s reflect nearly 300 staff/faculty who shared their Cornell pride, smiles, and greetings with guests. More than 130 students contributed to our dynamic team, creating familiar faces for students to run into on campus as they settle in. Six OSFL chapters participated, with Delta Chi and Zeta Psi having the largest representation; and four athletic teams signed up together. Cornell Womens Soccer had the largest group of any this year. 31 players and coaches were scattered across north and central campus offering warm welcomes and wayfinding on Monday afternoon.

Thanks to you, students and their families had a great experience coming to campus and getting settled into their rooms. There are always some bumps from an event perspective when something this large is underway and Move-in 2023 was no exception. Thanks to the flexibility of many, we were able to pivot and correct course quickly as needed, and the result was another successful move-in week!

Host Headquarters

Robert Purcell Community Center Check-In MUST be done on your first day of hosting to pick up your shirt, materials, and snacks. If you are scheduled for 2 days or more, you may take 2 shirts. The only exception to this is for those working student check-in at the mall. Those assigned to the mall may go directly there for their first shift.

Once you have your materials for the week, you can report directly to your shift assignment location to check in with your Zone Leader. Stop by 206 RPCC to re-stock supplies as needed.

Shuttles will transport those working on West and South campus from RPCC. Wait at RPCC's main entrance for the next shuttle to arrive.

Shuttles will also transport you back to the church or mall at the end of your shift.

The Shuttle Coordinator will be available in 206 RPCC to assist with rides.
